Bristol Naturalists’ Society

We partnered with the well established Bristol Naturalists’ Society in re-imagining their digital presence.

The Bristol Naturalists’ Society exists to stimulate a greater awareness of natural history and geology in the Bristol area. It is a thriving and friendly Society with something of interest for everybody, young or old, professional or amateur. Actively involved in research and conservation they approached us with the challenge of redesigning their website and refreshing the look and feel of their identity with the future in mind.

When working with such an established society we were cautious in our approach to refreshing their identity. We worked very closely with the society members when stripping back their existing identity and website to find out what it was that makes them so great. We then took these insights and began to develop a refreshed identity, in particular their colour palette, typography system and design treatment for the digital world.

After developing a new simplified logotype and design system that incorporates Bristol’s famous Clifton bridge, we began to expand the reach of the new modular identity across both print and digital.
